In addition to being music director for WPAQ, Frye also hosts Mountain Morning and The Midday Show. Based in Mt. Airy, NC, he has been nominated for Bluegrass DJ of the Year several times by SPBGMA and was also named Broadcaster of the Year by the Blue Ridge Acoustic Uprising in 2013. He is a bluegrass musician, and plays mandolin with Travis Frye & Blue Mountain.
